Public Transportation: We don?t recommend trying to reach the hostel from LAX via public transportation as it will take at least three buses and up to three hours. If you arrive at LAX during the day you can take an Airport FlyAway^? Bus to Union Station in downtown Los Angeles for $3. At the train station you can take an Amtrak or MetroLink^? train to the Fullerton Amtrak Station (directions from there are below). Train fares to Fullerton from Los Angeles are around $11.

By Shuttle Bus: You can take a Super Shuttle or Prime Shuttle van from LAX directly to the hostel's front door - call us or email us after booking for more information on services.

From other airports:

Several shuttle companies serve Orange County (John Wayne), Long Beach and Ontario airports.

From Fullerton Amtrak Station: The hostel is located about 1 œ miles north of the Amtrak Station on Harbor Blvd. Take the # 43 Bus (direction La Habra) and tell the driver you are going to the hostel. The cost of a taxi is around $6.

From Anaheim Greyhound Station: Walk to Anaheim and Palis and take OCTA Bus 47 North and exit at Harbor Blvd and Berkley in Fullerton. Walk north on Harbor Blvd Πmile to the entrance to Brea Dam Park.

We are located halfway between the international airport and downtown Anchorage in the Spenard Neighborhood. This neighborhood is known for its vibrant nightlife.

We are just a few minutes walk to a 24 hours supermarket and the Coastal Trail, an unrivalled system of bike trails criss-crossing the entire city of Anchorage.

The hostel features six dorm rooms and two private rooms. There are also three bathrooms, a large kitchen and TV room.

We have a big and beautiful back yard with badminton field, a basket game , a complete gym for working out, a cover area for BBQ , many picnic tables and a bunch of couches spreading out all over the yard to enjoy a coffee, a frozen beer or a glass of wine under a midnight sun in one of the more incredible summers you have seen anywhere.

A very awesome breakfast!!! Not a simple continental one ( $ 7 at least in any coffee shop or restaurant) is provided for guests for free. It's made with a lot of love every day by Marcela!!!! There is free Internet access (normally $ 4 per hour in any cyber-café, ) 3 terminals & wireless system work.

We have a big laundry with coin operated washers and driers. If you book 2 or more nights you have free laundry per person. Every room has full carpet and is very roomy and cosy.

After having been traveling around the world during 10 years, I can tell you, this is an amazing place to stay! Of course the best place in the city to feel relaxed and at home!

All points of historic significance, cultural value or just fun are convenient to the hostel. The hostel building is a three - story red brick structure. The City of Atlanta has designated the building as "Historically Significant".

This Hostel is the first full hostel to exist in Atlanta (1991). The family run hostel has grown from 20 beds in 1992 to 100 beds in 1996. Joseph, the Manager who lives on the property, insist on a clean, fun envoirnment.

1)To get to the Hostel from the BWI Airport:

a.Take the LightRail^? -

Monday through Saturday - 6am to 11pm
Sunday and Holidays - 11am to 7pm

From BWI take the light rail to the Lexington Market Stop. Walk north on Howard Street (with the flow of the train you just got off) and make your first right onto Mulberry Street. Walk for three blocks (with the flow of traffic) on Mulberry Street. The Hostel is on your Right - 17 West Mulberry - just after you cross over Cathedral Street.

To take a taxi from the airport it will be an average of $23.00

The BWI Super Shuttle offers travel to Downtown from 4am to Midnight. It is $20 the first person and $5 each additional person. They will drop you off at the hostel. Tell them you are going to the Baltimore Hostel at 17 West Mulberry Street.

***The Light Rail will drop you off along Howard Street. Howard Street has a lot of empty buildings and may appear unsafe if you are not use to Baltimore City. The area is a safe area with a lot of foot traffic. The empty buildings are due to redevelopment in Baltimore City, as luxury condos are slowly creeping their way up the street and developers choose to see a building sitting empty for years until it becomes in their best interest to do something about it. A quieter alternative Light Rail stop to Lexington Market is the Centre Street stop. This stop does not have as much activity around it, however I consider that to be less safe than one that has people around. Some would disagree with me. If you didn't like the looks of the Lexington Market stop continue on the Light Rail to the next stop at Centre Street. Get off, walk east on Centre Street (with the flow of traffic) for two blocks. Turn right onto Cathedral Street. Walk with the flow of traffic on Cathedral Street for 3 blocks. Turn left onto Mulberry Street. The Hostel is the 2nd door in, 17 West Mulberry street.***

2) To get to the Hostel from Dulles International Airport

a. There is no quick and inexpensive direct route to Baltimore City from Dulles International Airport. If you want a direct service you would need to use a taxi or shuttle service. A taxi or shuttle service would range from $30 to $60. For a less expensive alternative you can take the metro bus to the DC metro and then take the DC metro to Union Station. From there you can take the MARC Train (Monday through Friday ONLY) to Baltimore City and get off at Penn Station. The MARC train is $7 one way. On days when the MARC train is not running you can take the Metro bus to the DC metro and then take the DC metro to the Greenbelt Station. From there you would need to take the Metro Bus from the Greenbelt Station to BWI Airport. From the BWI Airport you can take the Light Rail into Baltimore City. Following directions for Light Rail from there.

3) To get to the Hostel from the Downtown Bus Station:

a.From the Greyhound bus station take the #27 bus to the stop near Mulberry Street. Walk two blocks with the flow of traffic on Mulberry Street and the Hostel is the 2nd door on your right just after you cross over Cathedral Street. A bus ride from the downtown bus station will take roughly 10 minutes.

b. We do not recommend walking from the downtown bus station. The bus station was recently moved slightly out of the city and is in an industrial area. The walk is easy enough, however you will be walking through areas that have a lot of old industrial buildings and not a lot of people on the street.

c. A taxi from Greyhound will cost $8.00 to $12.00 depending upon traffic.

4) To get to the Hostel from the Travel Plaza:

a. Take the #20 bus towards downtown. Get off at the intersection of Fayette and Charles Streets. Walk north (with the flow of traffic) on Charles Street for 3 blocks. Turn left at Mulberry Street. The hostel is located near the intersection of Cathedral and Mulberry Streets on your left hand side. A bus ride from the Travel Plaza will take roughly 40 minutes.

5)To get to the Hostel from Penn Station:

a.From Penn Station take the #3 bus down Saint Paul Street. When exiting the train station turn towards your left and walk to the entrance of the drive. There is a bus stop on the corner of the drive and Saint Paul Street. The #3 bus will drop you off directly across from the hostel on the corner of Mulberry and Cathedral Streets. The bus is $1.60 one way or $3.50 for an all day pass. A bus ride from the train station will take roughly 20 minutes.

b. If you are up for a walk Penn Station is 12 blocks, or one mile (1.6km) from the Hostel. Walk south on Charles Street (against the flow of traffic). Once you past the Washington Monument you go two more blocks and turn right into Mulberry Street. The hostel is on your left - 17 West Mulberry Street. The walk down Charles Street is a nice walk and you will get to see a number of shops and restaurants that you may want to visit later. The walk will take roughly 20 to 25 minutes. Be aware that there are a number of hills so we do not recommend it if you have a lot of bags.

c. A taxi from Penn Station will cost $5.00 to $7.00 depending upon traffic.

6) To get to the hostel by Car:

a.Coming from the south (Washington DC) you want to take 95 to Exit 53 - 395 North to Downtown/Martin Luther King Blvd. Stay to the left towards 'Downtown'. Once you are on the exit move to your right and go with the flow of traffic towards the Inner Harbor. Make your first left onto Charles Street. Follow Charles street for 10 blocks and make a left onto Franklin Street. Make your first left onto Cathedral Street and then your first left onto Mulberry Street. The hostel is the 2nd door in from Cathedral Street, 17 West Mulberry Street.

b.Coming from the North (Philadelphia, NYC) take 95 south to exit 53 -53 - 395 North to Downtown/Martin Luther King Blvd. Stay to the left towards 'Downtown'. Once you are on the exit move to your right and go with the flow of traffic towards the Inner Harbor. Make your first left onto Charles Street. Follow Charles street for 10 blocks and make a left onto Franklin Street. Make your first left onto Cathedral Street and then your first left onto Mulberry Street. The hostel is the 2nd door in from Cathedral Street, 17 West Mulberry Street.

c.Coming from the West (Pittsburgh, Ohio) take 70 East to 695 South towards "Essex". Follow 695 to 95 North. Get onto 95 North and follow the directions given when coming from the South (letter a).

d.We have limited parking available behind the hostel for $5 a night. You may be asked to leave your keys at the front desk in case we need to move vehicles around. Street parking is available at $1 an hour, though during rush hour times there is no parking on the streets.<b> If parking your car on the street be aware of the signs. Towing is enforced in the downtown area and it brings a steep fine of $260.</b> A number of garages are available in the area and they range from $8 to $20 a day (you pay that every time you come and go). You should reserve parking if you want to use parking behind the Hostel.

Watch for signs that say "To Honokaa"
Turn right at Pauahi Street and then an almost immediate left onto Bay Front Drive (Highway 19)
Take Highway 19 North towards Honokaa
Take the first Ahualoa turn (left) across from Tex Drive-In, just before the 43-mile marker. (Mauna Loa Street)
Make an immediate right onto Mamalahoa Highway
Go for just over 1.2 miles (WATCH YOUR MILEAGE! THIS NEXT TURN GETS MISSED ALL THE TIME!)
Take the first left with a street sign - Kalehua Street. (If you see a bank of mailboxes on your right, you've just passed Kalehua.)
Stay on Kalehua until it ends at a "T" intersection with Kahana Drive, approximately 1.5 miles. (Stay on the paved road. There is an unpaved road that connects into Kalehua about halfway up. Don't take that turn.) Kahana is clearly marked with a street sign. There will be a green water tank and a beautiful Sugi Pine straight ahead as your landmarks.
Turn left onto a dirt road and travel for approximately 0.3 mile.
