When you will have dinner in the summer house you will surely appreciate the magnificent landscape of the mountains covered with pastures and forests, but also the roses in the big yard and the murmur of the river from the back of the garden. At the end of a holiday spent at Terra Mythica, your only regret will be the one that you didn't stay here for a longer time.

By BUS: Just near the train station of Alba Iulia is the bus station. The tickes cost less than 1 euro. You are arrive in the Center of Ighiu in 30 min. and walk just 200 m more to get to Terra Mythica.
The hours of departure are : 7.50 am; 10.00 am, 12 am, 2.30 pm, 4.00 pm, 5.30 pm, 8.30 pm.
By Taxi: You can take a cab (taxi) from the train station of Alba Iulia. Alba Iulia -Ighiu shouldnt be more that 6, 7 or 8 euros, depends on the company. There are many taxi all around the city and most of them are serious companies.

Our hostel is easily accessible from the train station, where you will be greeted by one of our staff, if required, to escort you to the hostel safely. Let us know when you will arrive (which train). Exceptions are middle of the night arrivals, e.g. 3am.
Taxi-- A ride from the train station should cost about 2 EUROS or 7 lei (as of May 2006). Use only taxis with company names on them (e.g. Ro, Maartex, Tod, Ray.) and make sure they turn the meter on. It is better most times to take a taxi than a bus.
Bus-- Take bus #51 from the train station to the last stop at Piata Unirii. Each ticket costs 1.2 lei which you buy from a kiosk. Make sure you validate your ticket on board and WATCH FOR PICKPOCKETS!
From the #51 bus stop walk to St. Nicholas Church (in your front left), then walk up Balea Street (between the church and the big Coca-cola sign) then take the first right on to Str. Democratiei.

Hostel MARA is situated exactly in The Counsel Square, a big square in the heart of the old German city; in some places it is still surrounded by the original walls of the old city. Its buildings remind of the German inheritance of the region. The square is surrounded by shops, caffe shops and restaurants. Puddlers, strolling musicians and exotic gypsies give life and colour to the square.
Close to The Counsel Square there's the spiral tour of The Black Church. The black face masterpiece was built at the start of the 15th century and it took its name from the fire in 1689 which left the church black. The church can be visited even though right now it's being repaired. Occasionally the church is staging concerts of classic music. Near the Black Church there's Republicii Street - a nice place for a walk and a great opportunity for shopping. Here you can find especially handicraft shops where they sell: painted eggs, wollen carpets, wooden toys and engravings. The best view of Brasov can be seen from Tampa (the mountain top) after a trip in the funicular (daily between 10 h and 18 h excepting Mondays). You get to the funicular after a walk in the old area of the city, leaving The Counsel Square and going up the street Apollonia Hirscher.
At the end of the street Apollonia Hirscher you go left on Castelului street. Then you go right on Romer street till the end of the street where you go up the stairs that get to the funicular station. Right at the entrance there are the ruins of the old wall of the city. Going along the wall you can get to the Weaver's Bastion (it is one of the corners of the city that lasts since 1421-1436 and it houses a museum occasonally opened to the public).

By car when coming from Sibiu you have to skip Str. Lunga and wait for the third intersection between Str. Stadionului and Str. Avram Iancu. Here turn right and drive ahead for about 800 m and continue on Alexandru Ioan Cuza Str. Now look at the right side of the street and 200 m before the crossroad with Iuliu Maniu Str. you will find number 9.
The B&B is located on the side with odd numbers of Alexandru Ioan Cuza Str. at nr.9. When you arrive at the entrance open the red gate and on the right side go up on the stairs.

´Hostel Tina? is located approx. 10 minutes from Dristor metro station. From Gara De Nord train station, take the metro in the Dristor 2 direction until the final stop (From Airports take the Bus: 783 till Piata Victoriei Metro station and from there by Metro to Dristor). Go straight on Camil Ressu Boulevard (not in the direction of Mc Donald?s!).
After you cross the big intersection Camil Ressu with Liviu Rebreanu, continue along (approx. 1 minute) Camil Ressu Boulevard until you see a phone booth on the left hand of side walk not on the right! (is not the first one right there, after you cross the junction Camil Ressu with Liviu Rebreanu!!)
Turn left here, after the phone booth, and follow the small path to the end, you should now be in the front of Tower Block N3B ( is a Tower Block with one entrance and 10 Floors, without signs for Hostel Tina, only with the adress on a blue label). Well done! Push on the buttons 3 8 C (and when you use the lift/elevator please note that it only takes a maximum of two people and please open the doors from inside after lift/elevator has completely stop!!.) If you can't find us, please give us a call as we will be more than happy to meet you at the Dristor metro station. (At Camil Ressu with Liviu Rebreanu junction, on the left hand, you will see an open market with fruits and vegetables. Don´t ask people on the street for Hostel Tina (ask for address), because Romanians don?t know about hostel. We don`t have any sign outside yet!).

It is very easy to reach the hostel if you travel by train: 700m from the Train Station Gara de Nord (see on the map directions on how to reach the hostel from the Gara de Nord).
As soon as you leave the train, head towards the end of the train tracks, and where the rail tracks end just keep going on the same directions along the central hallway. You will arrive in front of the main exit/entrance of Gara de Nord: turn right under the tall columns and go ahead, along the Witing Street. At the end, you have to turn left on Plevnei St. And then left again on Mircea Vulcanescu (former Stefan Furtuna St). The hostel is the first house on the left. The whole walk will be maximum 10 minutes and it makes no sense to take a cab or any public transportation.

Take BUS number 282 from the train station as follows:
As soon as you leave the train, head towards the end of the tracks, just where the rail tracks end turn left and leave the train station passing all the dead end rail tracks for the different trains.
If you leave the train station like this, just cross the street outside of the train station called Calea Grivitei. You just need to walk LEFT for a few meters to see the big yellow sign with 'BANCA ROMANEASCA' on it.
This is where the BUS STOP for busnumber 282 is.
Attention, there are several bus stops at the train station, so please make sure, you are waiting under the big yellow 'BANCA ROMANEASCA' sign, the bus stop sign itself is a white sign with a red frame written 'RATB' on it and number of the busses serving this station (282 among others in this case)... Enter the bus
Get off the bus at the 6th station called Piata Domenii. In the bus, the stations are not announced, so please just count them until the 6th station, NOT including the one you enter the bus.
Leave the bus towards the back of the bus, right cross the big street (called ION MIHALACHE) on the pedestrian crossing and then turn left on the sidewalk of the opposite side of the broad road.
Cross a little street, pass a big building in construction on your right side and then enter to the right the next street called STR. DUMITRU ZOSIMA.
The hostel is on the left side after 50m, you will see a white garden wall and a door bow with BUTTERFLY VILLA written on it.
The complete walk from the bus is not more than 150m.
Before you enter the bus or the tram, you need to buy a valid ticket (1.1 new Lei = 0, 35 Euros = 0.45 $). Look for booths with 'RATB' label to get some. In front of the trainstation you will find one also written 'BILETE' on them. On the other hand, if you talk in a strange language to the controllers (very rarely seen), they usually dont bother, but we DID NOT SAY this :))
The Taxis at the main train station are mostly private drivers and you are in danger to get ripped off, so disregard any taxi offers in and outside the trainstation and take the bus or the tram during the daytime until around 11 in the night.
If you arrive in the night we offer to PICK YOU UP for 2.50 Euros per car , please write to us or call us, we will arrange the transport...
If you really want to go with the challenge of taking a taxi then please head straight out of the trainstation and turn left towards the metro station ( a big M sign). The taxis there (and only there) have a company written on them (Taxi 2000, Cobalcescu, Leone, Cristaxi, Meridian, Domino) and these bring you to the hostel for a reasonable price.
Please make sure, that the price for the km (written on the left and right of the taxi near the door) is not more than 1.20 new Lei (or 12.000 old Lei) per KM. If unsure, please CALL US, we will assist you. But as said before, better take our pickup service or take a bus as described above...
FROM THE AIRPORT(S):
Bucharest has 2 airports, one in the city called BANEASA (the cheap airlines usually go there) and another one called HENRI COANDA (or the old name OTOPENI, OTP on your ticket).
If you arrive at the Henri Coanda (or OTOPENI) airport, it is best to call us or write to us and WE PICK YOU UP for (15 Euros per car)
A taxi is possible as well, but please make sure, that you only take Fly-Taxi form the airport. The Ride is about 15 to 20 Euros, since the Airport is about 15km outside of the city.
!!!! ATTENTION !!!!!! Usually in OTP there are guys hanging around the terminal building offering (or better say insisting) a taxi ride to the city, even having some kind of official looking badge around the neck...
YOU WILL END UP PAYING 50 EUROS, SO DONT BOTHER, JUST IGNORE THESE GUYS!!!!! If you reallt want to take a taxi, walk out of the building and enter one of the waiting FLY-TAXI.
If you arrive at BANEASA airport, we offer to pick you up for 10 Euros per car, just let us know... A Taxi is NOT recommended from Baneasa, since you may end up with a private driver (see above) and pay way too much.
As an alternative, you can take the bus number 205 and leave the bus on the second station AFTER you see the ARC DE TRIUMPH (Looks like the one in Paris, white huge bow)..
Leave the bus, cross two littles streets, pass a big building in construction on your right side and then enter to the right the next street called STR. DUMITRU ZOSIMA.

Red gives onto the main street, which makes it a bit noisier and a lot brighter. We have dark curtains, of course, so don't worry too much about getting blinded by the sunshine!
2.The Front8, Back8 and Big 10 rooms are on another level of the same building as the main hostel.Front8 and Big10 give onto the main street, Back8 gives onto the interior courtyard. This level is also complete with kitchen, TV lounge, internet access, fridge, air conditioning, but you still have to climb down at the main hostel for laundry.
3.We've just added a double room, situated exactly in the heart of the historical center. The building is very old and looks like a maze, but is should be very interesting for people who like genuine old buildings. It has a TV, a fridge and an extra sink .There is NO air conditioning and NO internet access. There is a bathroom (with a shower) and NO kitchen.
1. From the Train station (the "Gara de Nord" train station)
By bus - Take bus no. 85 for 6 stops, get off at the 6th stop (in front of a McDonalds?). Our hostel is 1 minute away, up the street, above the "Heaven Night Club"( just continue walking up the street in the direction the bus is going and you will see the night club?s sign on the left side of the street , on the 2nd floor.That is actually our balcony )
By subway- Take the M1 subway line from the "Gara de Nord" station for one stop, to "Piata Victoriei". Change to the M2 subway line and take the next subway for 2 stops, to the "Universitatate" stop. From there, you will have a 3 minutes walk to the hostel.
OR
- Take the M1 subway line for 6 stops to the ?Izvor? stop.You will have a 10 minutes walk to the hostel from there.
By taxi - it is pretty close to the train station, so a taxi shouldn't take you more than 10 minutes and 6 RON (=1.8 euro)
2. From the "Henri Coanda"airport and "Baneasa" airport.
By bus - take the Express Bus no 783 to the "Piata 21 Dec 1989" stop. You will have a 3 minutes walk from there to the hostel.
By taxi - we don't advise you to take one, because it is definitely not good value for money. Despite this, if you want to take a cab, it shouldn't charge you more than 50 RON (=15 euro).

Coming by car or taxi: Go to Gara de Nord at Strada Golescu and Strada Witting. Take Witting past the PETROM petrol staion to the first street on the right Strada Balacescu. Go to the T junction with Strada Vespasian. Turn right . Take the first street right into Strada Institutul Medico Militar. We are the second house on the right at Nr. 11.
If you are arriving very late or early in the morning please be patient while I find my dressing gown and some slippers. We are home but probably in bed so don't hurry away.

Central Hostel is located in the middle of Bucharest - handy for any part of the city.
Before you get in any bus or tram you must by a ticket from the grey kiosk that you?ll find in each station. As soon you get in the bus or tram you have to punch the ticket.
Doesn?t matter fom where are you travelling from in bucharest - you need to get to DACIA BOULEVARD then on to PIATA GEMENII and from there it's 100 meters walking.

We have customised a 450 year old German Saxon building, that for centuries hosted a pharmacy with an alchemist lab.
A light and inspiring atmosphere has been created by large old windows, which contrast with the dark corners of our brick arcade basement.

This is a very nice hostel set in a quiet garden in a very rural community. The hostel is close to all the town facilities including shops bars and restaurants. It has a bar-b-Q area in the garden plus chairs for guests to relax in away from the summer sun. Besides the dorm bed rooms there is also a room for relaxation where guests can watch local and cable TV. This is a no smoking in the hostel but guests can smoke on the verandas and in the garden if they are considerate of others feelings. We are very convenient for buss to all the local villages and sites of interest while the political prison museum is within easy walking distance.
You should come and visit Sighet the town is a bit dusty in the summer and very cold in the winter but it is a place you can always find some where to suit you.
