We are located close to limits of Sopot city, so it is easy to get to the Sopot by foot, bike or by fast city train (called SKM).

How to reach us by BUS&CITY TRAIN from Airport:

There is end bus station at airport for BUS line 110 ( http://www.zkm.pl/port110/1101491w.htm - bus stops: http://www.zkm.pl/visualsys/indexht.php?roz=110 - word "PORT Lotniczy" means "Airport").
Take that bus and follow to his opposite end station (it should takes about 31 minutes by timetable) at train station GDANSK - WRZESZCZ (bus ticket about 4.20 zl polish zloty buy ticket before in newspaperstand and validate it in bus after it start runing).

At train station take SKM (in direction towards GDYNIA/WEJHEROWO, SKM means Fast City Train, SKM ticket about 2.20 zl polish zloty, buy train ticket before in ticket office and stamp it in big (usually yellow) machines, just right before entering train platform, so before you enter the train, not inside - travel time about 7 minutes) - train stops:

The richest architecture is visible in the historic quarter of the Main Town. Its main thoroughfare, known as the Royal Way, is spectacular. Lined with magnificent buildings featuring beautifully painted facades and entered through grand stone gateways at either end, this was the route along which the Polish Kings paraded during their visits. The most splendid façade in town belongs to the Golden House, one of Gdañsk?s most impressive buildings, along with the Town Hall and Artus Court. In front of the Court, the gathering place of the old merchants, stands the Renaissance-style Neptune?s Fountain. Along the waterfront with its fashionable restaurants and cafes, the huge Gdañsk Crane dominates the promenade, the largest crane in medieval Europe and today housing the Maritime Museum.

From the bus and take the pedestrian subway to the main railway station. Continue on untill you cross the main road Come out of the subway. Face the station then turn left down to the first set of traffic lights. At the lights turn left. Walk 25m and you will come to a roundabout. On the roundabout, at about 12 o?clock you will find the road of Szeroka. We are 25m down that road on the right. Entrance is at the rear.

From the Main Railway station, go through the pedestrian subway acroos the Main Road. As you come out of the subway, follow the above details.

Airport transfers can be arranged by email. The cost of this is 50.00 Polish zloty each way. If there are more than four in your group, a people-carrier taxi can be found immediately outside of the airport. You can catch the bus Nr (B) down to the Main Station. It is the 15th stop. Follow the above intsructions from the station as above.

We should tell you, Szewska Street really is one of the most exciting streets in Krakow. Only a few hundred meters long, but it has at least 5 or 6 clubs, lots and lots more nice bars and restaurants. It joins onto the Main Square - Flamingo Hostel is approximately 42 meters from this square, which has got to be one of the biggest, liveliest, most enthralling squares in Europe. It is in the centre of the Old Town, which plays host to countless bars, clubs and restaurants as already mentioned, as well as most of the cities best museums, churches, galleries, theatres, shops, basilicas, and everything else that takes your fancy. All up about a 10 minute walk.

Our reception is manned 24/7 and sells drinks and phone cards if you get the urge to ring home and tell your mum how much you love Krakow. Admittedly there are some things we don't have: there is no curfew, no lockout and no early check out!

- From the railway / bus station, take tram 13.
- Get off the tram at the third stop, called Miodowa.

From the main train station:
Our hostel is only 200 meters away from the train station. However, due to poor planning and poorer labeling getting out of the train station could be quite a challenge. Follow instructions below to avoid confusion and save time

Leave the train safely and gracefully!

You are at the platform. There are 3 staircases leading to 3 different arrival halls under the platform. Which one to take to save time? Take the one at the very beginning of the platform. What does 'the very beginning of the platform' mean? It means that this staircase is closer to main building of the station and city center and majority of natives will go this direction. Follow the crowd!

Walk down the stairs, turn right and get to the very end of underground arrival hall.
Exit underground arrival hall and take either route A or B.

Route A:
Head to the shopping mall called GALERIA KRAKOWSKA which is an extension of the underground arrival hall. (The mall is closed from 10 pm till 8 am and on Polish bank holidays. If that is the case check option B.)

Find escalator, get to the ground level and leave the mall. You are on Pawia Street
Turn left, walk for about 100 meters, cross the street and find building #12

Route B:
Walk up the stairs and head to the main building of the station.
Leave the main building. You are facing spacious plaza with a modern building of the shopping mall GALERIA KRAKOWSKA on your right.
Walk along shopping mall's walls till they end. You are on PAWIA Street.
Cross the street and find building #12

From the main bus station:
The main bus station and the main train station are situated next to each other
Leave the Bus terminal.
You have to go through the train station in order to get to the city center and the hostel.
Find the entrance to train station underground arrival hall and walk down the stairs.
Walk straight to the very end of the underground arrival hall.
Exit underground arrival hall and take either route A or B
(Mentioned in the train station section.)


From the airport:

The easiest way to get to the hostel is to take a train from the airport train terminal to the Main Train Station.
From the airport terminal building take a free shuttle bus, which is synchronized with the trains or walk 200 meters to the train terminal.

The trains operate from approx 4.24 in the morning to 00.15 the next day. The ticket price is only 4 pln (1 euro and a few cents); you may buy it from the train operator. Please remember to get some Polish change before buying the ticket because those train operators are always short of change and will refuse taking 100 pln banknotes! The ride is approx 20 minutes long.

When you get to the main train station, please follow the instructions given in the main train station section above.

We have two, small, cozy hostels with a helpful and personable staff. Both are located in old town and are ideal to explore Krakow either by day or by night, both are about 10 min walk apart.

The hostel with dorms is on J. Sarego St. 24/2 just between the two most vibrant and accessible parts of the city the Main Market Square and Kazimierz (the former Jewish quarter of the city.) The Main Square is a 7 minute walk away, and to get to Kazimierz you only need to cross a street.

To avoid confusion, after reservation is made, we will send you an email with precise map and directions to the hostel you booked for.

If you booked Private Room:

Getting to Private Rooms from the Main Train Station and Bus Station:
1.) Take tram no. 2 or bus no. 502. If you go by tram you should get off at the 3rd stop, if you are going by bus, then get off at the 2nd stop. In both cases the stop is called ?Filharmonia.? Follow Floriana Straszewskiego Street (just proceed straight) and take the second turn (if you came by train) or the first (if by bus) to the right. It is Plac na Groblach, and we?re here.

To get to the city from the bus station walk through the adjacent train station to the square in front.

2.) If you have some time to spare (about 20 - 30 minutes) the weather is nice and you're not weighed down by a gigantic backpack, why not walk here. It is a nice stroll and will give you a good first look at the city.

3.) Walk through the pedestrian subway towards the city center. Take the exit straight ahead, and after reaching the top of a hill, continue walking to the left. The path goes via Planty (the park stretching around the main square area.) After a while you?ll see Dominika?ska Street (with tram tracks) crossing the Planty. Take it to the right. Follow Dominika?ska and continue as it turns into Franciszka?ska until it crosses Straszewskiego Street. Turn left onto Straszewskiego. The First turn on the right is Plac na Groblach. You?ll find our hostel here.

If you booked a Dorm Room:

Getting to hostel with dorms from the Main Train Station and Bus Station:
Take tram No.13 and get off at second stop called 'Starowislna'. Cross the street to your right. Follow Dietla St. The first turn on the right is Józefa Sarego St. The hostel is here.
* To get to the city from the bus station walk through adjacent train station to square in front of it.
If the weather is nice, it might be more pleasant to walk along Westerplatte and Sw. Gertrudy Street. The Path goes via Planty (the park stretching around the Main Square area). If walking this way, make sure you don't miss Sarego Street. You'll know you've reached it when you see the Deutche Bank which is just to the left of the turn onto Sarego.

Getting here... from the airport:
Train:
Take the train from the airport and get off at the main railway station. Follow the instructions given above.

The train leaves every 30 minutes, costs 4 PLN. The whole journey takes 15 minutes. The train stop is about 200 meters from the main terminal.

Taxi:
Taking a taxi to the hostel from the airport costs about 60 PLN

Bus:
Take bus no. 192 and get off next to the lower platform of the main bus station (Dworzec G?ówny Wschód). Follow the instructions given above - the journey takes 45 minutes

*From the main train station (Krakow Glowny:
Take a tram: 4, 5, 14, 15 or 3, 13, 19, 34 or a bus 124 or 152 and get off at Basztowa LOT (it is only one stop!), take a second turn right and you are on Krowoderska Street. Look for #31 and you will be at Hostel Giraffe.

*From the airport (Balice Airport):
Take a bus 192 (or 602 at night) and get off at Basztowa LOT bus stop.
Take a train to the main train station and follow the directions above.

Our doors opened in May 2003 as the First Backpacker's Hostel in Krakow. We are very proud to be able to serve our traveling guests with the highest standards, and hope that you will choose to come and check us out yourself. Keep in mind, that we are not just a normal hostel: we have multiple common areas, a private Bar, a lovely Beer Garden, Free Billiards, Free Ping Pong, a Surround Sound Cinema with over 250 DVD's to watch for free, and more!

Nathan?s Villa is located less than 100 meters from Wawel Castle and right in the middle between Krakow's main square and the Kazimierz district. We are in walking distance to all the main clubs and pubs, so you can easily and safely walk home after a long night. There's an ATM at 10 meters, and the best thing is that there's a 24H EVERYTHING STORE right around the corner!

To all the guests visiting us we offer free breakfast, free internet, free laundry and linen, free coffee and tea 24h, free shot in our bar and last but not the least no curfew, no lockout and no check out time.
Our hostel offers you a choice of two types of rooms, small and private or a little larger great for socializing. The bunk thick-mattressed IKEA beds are full adult size, so no bumping your head on the top bunk as you sit on the bottom one. All rooms are comfortably furnished with cozy plush chairs, tables, stools and some even have sofas in them! Each bed has its own shelf and night lamp for convenience. Every guests gets a large locker in the room with a key and a padlock. Each guest is also given a key to their room for extra security. New Western-Style bathrooms are ones you would expect to find in a 4-star hotel, equipped with massaging shower heads and 24-hour hot water. The hostel is also centrally heated in the winter months.
