Coche ? After going over the Rio-Niteroi Bridge, take the most leftward exit (going towards Rio Bonito), going along the Rio-Manilha highway for 25 Km, then following the BR-101 highway for 36 Km until Rio Bonito and take a right at Via Lagos (with toll booths), going towards the Lake Region.

At Via Lagos go another 68 Km, until Sao Pedro da Aldeia, then another 13 Km until Cabo Frio, and at the Sao Cristovao cloverleaf, at the end of Avenida America Central, get on the RJ-140 highway, which links Cabo Frio to Arraial do Cabo at 10Km.

By Car:
For those coming by car on the BR 101 Highway of Santa Catarina, the exit for the town of Bombinhas is 15 km south of Balneário Camboriú, and 65 km north of Florianópolis. Take the exit on the 155th kilometer, at the main entrance for the town of Bombinhas and Porto Belo. The distance from this point to the Pousada Quintal do Mar is 21, 6 kilometers (13.5 miles).
You will get there following these instructions:

Once you get on the SC 412 road, go on for 3.2 kms. It?s a road paved with cement blocks. You will pass by the mall ?Porto das Águas? and then you will come to a traffic circle.
Keep going straight ahead for another 4.8 kms on the ?Gov. Celso Ramos Avenue? along a straight road. You will cross Porto Belo?s downtown.
Keep going straight ahead for another 3.4 kms on an asphalt paved road going through the hill that divides the towns of Porto Belo and Bombinhas, you will arrive to the beach of Bombas.
After a right curve, you reach ?Leopoldo Zarling Avenue?. Go 1.3 kms on this road until you find a sign to ?Mariscal?
Turn right on the ?Falcão? Ave. It?s an asphalt paved road. Go on for 4 kms until you find a ?Petrobras? gas station and a round about.
Turn left on this round about and you take ?Maracujá? street. Keep going on this road for 1 km. It?s a cement blocks paved road that becomes stone paved at its end.
After a left curve, you find the beginning of the ?Girassol? Avenue. Go 1.8 kms on this road until you come to a corner where there is a sign of a real state business ?Mauricio Imóveis?.
Turn left at this corner on the ?Cangerana? street. It?s a non paved street. Keep going 600 meters.
Turn left on ?Araucária? street and go on for 700 meters.
Turn right on ?Grafite? street and after more 800 meters on this street, it comes to an end on the ?Aroeira da Praia? Avenue, just in front of the Pousada Quintal do Mar.

Búzios is located at 105 miles NE from the city of Rio de Janeiro. Many international and Brazilian airlines offer non-stop flights to the modern and busy Rio de Janeiro International Airport. From this Gateway you can reach Búzios either by air, sea or by road. In all cases you will be very welcome. Below you will find information how to get into this peninsula and how to move there.

I - By Car (From Rio de Janeiro to Buzios)
Approximately one hour and fifty minutes from Rio de Janeiro. After passing the toll on the Rio-Niterói bridge, take a left in the direction of Rio Bonito. Soon after arriving at Rio Bonito, take a right onto "Via Lagos" in the direction of Região dos Lagos (Lakes Region). Stay on this highway. When it ends, continue more 4 miles until reaching a large Ipiranga gas station at the entrance of São Pedro da Aldeia. III - By Air
The Umberto Modiano Airport (Buzios) operates with a 4265 foot x 100 foot wide illuminated paved runway and can receive corporate jets, Fokker 27 and Fokker 50 aircraft. There are presently no regular flights to Búzios.

IV - By Sea
Marina Porto Búzios (+55 22/2629-1238) and Búzios Yacht Club offer sophisticated harbors to moor your boat safely if you decide to go by sea. You can also have nautical services at Porto Veleiro (+55 22/2623-2470) in Ossos Beach.
The Nautical Chart for Búzios is 1504. The wind comes at about 18km/h in most of the time from the northeast.
Cruises
During High Season (from December to March) some international Cruise Lines have Búzios in their destionation. The ships usually stay only one day in Búzios and the passengers can take a small tour in the city.

At the Rio de Janeiro Bus Station (Rodoviaria Novo Rio), take the ?Autoviação 1001? [Site: http://www.autoviacao1001.com.br - Tel: +55 (21) 4004 5001], usualy every two hours from 6.30 to 19.30.
After a journey of approx. two and a half hours, ask for the driver to stop at the ?Tartaruga Beach? Stop (Last stop before arriving to the end stop), in front of the Pousada Kybalion Hotel.
Then ask in the Pousada Kybalion reception desk for the accommodation in the Buzios Adventure Hostel.

By Car:
Two hours and a half from Rio de Janeiro (GIG). Take the ?Linha Vermelha? to Niteroi, then cross the Rio-Niteroi Bridge (BR 101), and at the end take the road to the ?Região dos Lagos?. In Rio Bonito, take the ?Via Lagos? way (PAY) until the ?Atlantic? gas station at the ?São Pedro d?Aldeia? entrance. Then follow the ?Macaé? city signs (RJ 106) and at 14km take the first right turn, marked by the ?Búzios? sign. Carry on until the Tourist Information Portico and then turn left. Follow the principal avenue and, arriving to the centre, the Pousada Kybalion Hotel is located at your left. Then ask in the Pousada Kybalion reception desk for the accommodation in the Buzios Adventure Hostel. (Tartaruga Beach entrance).

The easiest way to get to Buzios is to take a bus. It is a 2 hour ride with a coffee-stop (notice some buses do not have a toilet) We advise you to arrive at the Bus station an Hour before scheduled departure since the lines at the ticket booths might be longer than expected.

The ticket prices range from BR$ 23 - 26, depending if the bus is equipped with air conditioning or not.

TIP: When in Buzios, ask the bus driver to stop for you at Praça Mandragora, just before the Hotel Mandragora, right at our door. Do not worry, locals ask the bus driver to stop at every corner inside Buzios. But if you go until the final stop at the bus station in Buzios, just walk back a few hundred meters. You will pass a go-cart race track on your left side and then an ESSO gas station on your right. Once you go past the ESSO station intersection you take a left at the 4th street (Mandragora square)

On the way you will pass by the stores "Madeferro", "Localiza", "LBM", "Via Buzios Imoveis" until you reach the square. We are located at Rua da Mandragora (BIG GREEN HOUSE) at the back of the square, you will not miss it!

How to get here by bus (option # 1 and best one): leave the BUS STATION and cross the PEDESTRIAN WALK-WAY (OVERBRIDGE) towards the other side of the road. There is the store CASAS DA ÁGUA on your left hand side, the bus stops are right in front of that store. Take the bus # 1121 INGLESES (yellow bus) that will take you to Praia do Santinho. It is a 40/45 min trip. Ask the driver to drop you off at Praia do Santinho in front of Supermercado Silva, our street (Rua do Ipê) is across the road opposite to the supermarket.
The bus # 1121 runs during week days and Saturday only until 3:30pm. The bus leaves every 40 minutes.

Option # 2 (Sunday option): from the BUS STATION turn right and walk about 150m to TICEN (Terminal Integração Centro). From PLATAFORMA C take bus # 210 DIRETO or # 221 SEMI-DIRETO to TICAN (Terminal Integração Canasvieiras). Once you get to TICAN there is a connection (bus # 264 INGLESES) that will take you to Praia do Santinho. Get off at the last stop and walk back 50m from the bus stop. There is a sign for Pousada do Atoba on the left hand side, opposite to Supermercado Silva.

From The Bus Station:

When you arrive at Florianopolis bus station, walk past the hustlers (offering Pousadas and telling that The Backpackers is closed ? ignore them), and straight out of the doors facing Floripa Centro. Turn right and five minutes walk to the south (past the bus terminal car park) is the local bus station. The bus to LAGOA DA CONCEIÇÃO leaves from the second-last stop at the end of the middle platform. This bus is #330 or #320. Ride this bus to the LAGOA TERMINAL. Here, change to bus #360 to BARRA DA LAGOA and ride until the final stop. Over the footbridge is The Backpackers Share House on your left. This journey should take 50 min and cost R$ 2, 30. Change is rare, so don?t try to pay with a big bill. These blue buses run from 5.50 AM until 11.30 PM (occasional buses run later).

By Taxi:

Walk out the doors and ask a driver to take you to BARRA DA LAGOA Preferably in Portuguese or Arabic. It will cost around R$ 50, 00. Again, when you arrive in BARRA DA LAGOA, walk over the footbridge and find the BACKPACKERS 20m up the path on your left.

From the Airport:

By Bus - Walk out of the airport and go to the bus stop outside. Catch green bus #183 or #186 which comes every ten minutes. Written on the bus is Corredor do Sudoeste. Get off at the local bus station and follow the directions from above. This bus will cost you R$ 1.60 and take you 25-30 minutes during rush hour. It runs from 5.30 AM until 12.30 PM.
